Gus O. Nations, III
Chef Nations' Culinary adventure began in his early teens and became a passion and then a profession. Upon graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Chef returned to St. Louis with the Omni Hotel organization. 9 years and three states later Gus was transferred to the Big Apple. His next position was with the Morton's Restaurant Group where he settled in as Executive Chef for their Mid-Town location. He later took over in the financial district location and became responsible for new store openings, training, and consistency issues around the country and overseas. He later joined Crystal Springs Resort as Corporate Chef / Food and Beverage Director. Following his stint at Crystal Springs, Chef Gus took over the Banquet Chef position at Tavern on the Green in Central Park. Then the busiest freestanding restaurant in the country. Chef Nations took an eleven-year hiatus from professional kitchens (although never giving up his passion for cooking) and worked in food sales with Sysco Food Services. During this time, he co-founded a catering and restaurant incubator in Bergen county. Outside of the kitchen Chef Gus enjoys spending time raising his son and daughter, as well as nurturing his marriage of, now, 28 years.
Director of Food and Beverage
Sherry Geck is a long-time veteran of the food and beverage industry and enjoys the energy and teamwork that comes with it. As the Food and Beverage Director at Forest Hill Field Club, Sherry not only brings her significant experience and leadership but also a passion to provide next-level service and comfort to all guests in her care. Sherry’s hospitality experience stems from the restaurant industry, and most recently was the Director of Operations for Always LTD, managing multiple restaurants in Jersey City and Hoboken. Sherry grew up in Manila until she was seven years old, then moved to New Jersey, where she went to Rutgers University for Exercise Science and played lacrosse. She worked in the fitness industry as a Personal Training Manager but found that her real passion was in hospitality. In her free time, she enjoys going to her local CrossFit gym, checking out local restaurants with her husband, relaxing with her two English bulldogs, and volunteering at her local animal shelter. She is excited and feels very fortunate to be a part of this incredible community and can’t wait for someone to teach her how to swing a golf club.
Events Liaison and Bar Manager
Danielle, an alumna of Immaculate Heart Academy & James Madison University, joined Forest Hill with a bachelor’s degree in communications focused on event planning. As a college intern, she started her career with Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the largest nonprofit focused on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, running national conferences and events. After graduating from JMU, she continued and grew with PPMD for ten years running their seminars, events, and the largest national awareness program that partnered with the American Football Coaches Association. She has always had a passion for events and wants to see every client’s dream become a reality. Out of the office, some of Danielle’s favorite things include wine, reading, traveling & playing golf, especially at “The Hill”! Because of her interest in wine, she is studying to become a sommelier and cannot wait to share her knowledge and passion.
Agnes Nowobilska recently joined the team in 2020 and is very excited to a part of the Forest Hill Field Club community. Born and raised in Lapsze Nizne, Poland, Agnes has considered North Jersey her home for the better part of two decades. Her hospitality career began at Ramsey Golf and Country Club where she found a passion for the ever-changing and fast-paced nature of the industry. Upon graduating from Montclair State University in 2017 with double degrees in History, she decided to pursue hospitality and spent the next 4 years falling in love with country club life. After gaining experience in various front-of-the-house, back-of-the-house, and administrative roles, she was excited to take on a new challenge as Office Manager here at The Hill. You can always find her about the clubhouse, whether talking to members, tending to issues, or lending a helping hand wherever is needed, she is never too far to hear your questions, comments, or concerns. In her free time, she used to enjoy traveling, attending concerts and sports games as well as trying new restaurants but now prefers skiing and catching up on the latest Netflix releases.
